Hey friends, welcome back to Bike Reviews India!
After a long time, I’m finally back with a detailed review of the 2025 Honda Hornet 2.0 with Dual Channel ABS. Yes, you guessed it right from the title and thumbnail! In this blog, I’ll be giving you a complete ride experience, all the updates, new features, pricing, and of course, how it compares to its rivals in the 160–180cc segment.

A huge thanks to Honda BigWing Krishnanagar for letting me test this bike. If you’re from Krishnanagar, West Bengal, or nearby, do visit their showroom for any Honda bikes or scooters.

🔍 Walkaround & Design Updates

At first glance, the 2025 Hornet 2.0 doesn’t stray far from the previous model. But look closer, and you’ll find subtle but impactful updates:

  • LED Headlamp with a smoky effect — looks sharper and meaner now.
  • All-LED setup: high beam, low beam, DRLs, and even hazard lights are onboard.
  • Turn Signals blink when the key is turned on (OBD2 B update).
  • New Digital Instrument Console: Inspired by SP160 and Activa, but with an extra featureHonda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).

Here, you also get:

  • Digital Tachometer
  • Gear Position Indicator
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Turn-by-turn Navigation, SMS & Call alerts (via Honda RoadSync app)
  • Trip info, fuel range, brightness settings, themes, eco indicators, and more.

Oh, and yes — it now comes with a USB Type-C charging port, located conveniently on the console.

⚙️ Engine & Performance

The engine remains the same 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. Here’s what’s new:

  • Power Output: 17.2 PS → 17 PS
  • Torque: 15.9 Nm → 15.7 Nm
  • Slipper Clutch is retained
  • New Traction Control (HSTC)
  • OBD2B compliant with added sensors for reduced emissions
  • Compatible with E20 flex fuel

Though slightly down on paper, real-world performance is still linear and smooth. The clutch action is feather-light and gear shifts are positive. Downshifting at high RPMs doesn’t unsettle the rear wheel thanks to the slipper clutch.

🧪 Ride Quality & Handling

Let’s talk real-world experience now:

  • Seating: Comfortable for both rider and pillion. Seat height at 795 mm makes it accessible for riders above 5’4″.
  • Riding Position: Upright with a slight lean — ideal for city and highway use.
  • Weight: At 142 kg, it’s lighter than most in the segment.
  • Tank Capacity: 12 liters (metal tank with fiber shroud), gives around 40–45 km/l mileage.
  • Ground Clearance: 167 mm — enough for Indian roads.

Suspension setup:

  • USD Front Forks by Showa
  • Rear Monoshock
  • Good for cornering, feels stiff over rough roads.

🛑 Braking & Safety – Dual Channel ABS Test

This is the highlight!

Previously, only single-channel ABS was available. Now, both front and rear get ABS, and it’s well-tuned:

  • Front Brake: 276 mm petal disc
  • Rear Brake: 220 mm petal disc
  • ABS Intervention: Quick and responsive, even during aggressive braking
  • No wheel lock-ups, even under emergency conditions
  • Excellent stability under sudden braking or downshifts

Combined braking performance is top-notch and better than the NX200 in real-world feel.

🛞 Tyres & Hardware

  • Front Tyre: 110/70 – 17 (Tubeless)
  • Rear Tyre: 140/70 – 17 (Tubeless)
  • Alloy Wheels: 17-inch, stylish, sporty
  • Mudguards: Solid fiber quality
  • Exhaust: Retains sporty note, slightly tweaked tone
  • Box-type Swingarm with open-chain setup

If only these tires were radial, it would’ve added to ride quality.
